NOURRITURES TERRESTRES

Water architectures drain and provide the nutrients necessary for life, but also ancestral memory. Under the Château de Fan, roots: At the roots of a writer's inspiration are childhood memories, the family home, the flavors of the land.

"I saw the plain in the summer
wait, wait for a little rain
Nathanael, let every expectation in you
be not even a desire
but simply a reception arrangement.."

"Les nourritures terrestres", André Gide, Nobel Prize in Literature in 1947.

In the plain of Jol, the Jardin de la Noria now welcomes this work as a tribute to André Gide’s visit to the region.

This in-situ installation echoes the spectacular branches of the ancient Mediterranean cypress. It evokes the memory of a Greek theatre that would play the family saga.
